The SMART-HEAD project is a strategic Cooperation Partnership in Higher Education funded by the Erasmus+ programme (Action Type: KA220-HED). The initiative focuses on nurturing a sustainable mindset through digital transformation and the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) SMART-HEAD addresses the critical need for a sustainable lifestyle by leveraging innovative digital approaches. It seeks to transform how students and academics perceive and apply sustainability principles, aiming to prepare them for active participation in solving global environmental and social challenges. The project’s most significant intended impact is a fundamental shift in the value system of the academic community
Key Objectives
- Awareness: Increasing student and faculty understanding of sustainable development through digital tools
- Innovation: Creating a methodology and advanced digital educational tools to support learning and critical thinking
- Personalization: Utilizing AI-assisted analyses to provide personalized content and learning paths tailored to individual student needs
- Digital Ecosystem: Developing a comprehensive ecosystem including a mobile application, cloud services, and a content management database
Main Activities
- Digital Resource Creation: Developing educational resources such as flashcards, daily questions, and monthly quizzes focused on sustainability
- Mobile App & Gamification: Building a mobile application that incorporates gamification to encourage and reward sustainable habits
- AI Integration: Implementing AI algorithms to analyze collected training data and generate personalized educational materials
- Academic Training: Organizing workshops for educators to enhance their capacity to use advanced digital tools and transdisciplinary pedagogical approaches
